Dear Brother

If I were even one percent like my brother, this little note would probably stay empty and this poem would never exist.

Because brothers somehow grow up believing they must be “too cool” for emotions. As if love should only exist in teasing, protective silence, stolen snacks, or badly hidden concern.

But despite all that, I have always known there is softness beneath the act.

I wrote this poem for the brothers who struggle to say what they feel yet spend their whole lives showing it quietly instead. The ones who protect without asking for credit, care without announcing it, and love in ways so subtle you almost miss them.

And maybe that is why sisters end up writing poems like this in the first place — to make brothers feel the emotions they rarely allow themselves to receive.
